EASTER on the Macintyre has made its mark on the social calendar.
Thousands of people flocked to town to enjoy the many festivities. A crowd of about 1500 were at the banks of the Macintyre River on Saturday evening for the big event.
From gliding, fishing, winter fashion, Gunsynd, races, quilting and much more, Goondiwindi had much to offer this Easter long-weekend. From start to finish it’s proved once again that Goondiwindi loves a good time.
“What a fantastic weekend,” said Mayor Cr Graeme Scheu. “It has been a fantastic exhibition of community spirit and pride. It’s great to see all the visitors and tourists come to Goondiwindi. It was gratefully received with the kids rides being free of charge. I would like to thank sponsors the Goondiwindi Argus, Rabobank and Laser Electrical.”
